Charlotte was selected by the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland to represent them in the Kathleen Ferrier Bursary Competition in October 2013. Partnered by pianist George Todica Charlotte reached the final and won the 60th anniversary audience prize. This started a Lieder partnership which has seen them perform recitals, competitions, and concerts together both here in the United Kingdom, Romania, Norway, and Italy.
Their work together included Charlotte winning third prize in the Voice of Future competition at the Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod in 2014. Later that year they performed together at the Kelvingrove Art Gallery, Glasgow on behalf of Marie Curie for their annual charity dinner.
In 2015 Charlotte and George were selected for a week’s workshop with Masterclasses for singers and pianists ‘Edvard Greig and The Human Voice’ at the International Edvard Grieg Society’s conference in Bergen, Norway, where she performed alongside George at Grieg’s home in Troldhaugen. In the November of 2015, they were invited to perform an evening recital together for the Edinburgh Society of Musicians. In the same year, they were finalists in the Elgar and Spedding Memorial Lieder Prize at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.
In 2016 Charlotte and George performed in two concerts; the first at the South Hill Park Arts Centre, Ringmead followed by a concert in support of the Pendsey Trust. Accompanied by George, Charlotte reached the final in the 2016 Association of English Singers and Speakers Courtney Kenny Award where George shared the accompanist prize. In April 2016 they were invited to perform at one of the Fringe concerts at the Leeds Lieder Festival. This year in June 2018 they presented a recital in the Tideswell Wakes Concert in the magnificent setting of ‘The Cathedral of the Peak’ with the famous Tideswell Male Voice Choir and will be performing at a private fundraising concert in Warwickshire in September.
